Alfredo Romero Jiménez, a 33-year-old executive chef born in Michoacán to a large family of nine siblings, has lived an exciting culinary life filled with achievements.
Although he didn't enjoy cooking in his childhood, at the age of 17, he began working as a steward in a hotel in Tijuana. It was there that he met a passionate Oaxacan woman who introduced him to the fascinating world of gastronomy. He was impressed by her preparation of mole and other recipes, gradually falling in love with cooking himself.
As time passed, his career took off, and by the age of 25, he became an Executive Chef. His love for the sea and fishing relaxes him, and he adores cooking fresh fish, following the motto 'From the Sea to the Table.' One of the most exciting moments in his career was cooking for his mother for the first time and witnessing the satisfaction and joy his food brought her.
His culinary journey has taken him to prominent locations, from Los Cabos to Cancun, and finally to Mazatlán, where he has been working since September 2022. Alfredo is particularly impressed by the evolution of gastronomy in Mazatlán, without losing that homemade touch and flavor characteristic of the region. Among his favorite dishes are the 'tacos gobernadores,' a local delight.
His greatest inspiration in the kitchen is the renowned chef Gordon Ramsay, and his specialty is international cuisine, with Italian cuisine being his favorite to prepare and enjoy. Furthermore, his dedication and culinary skills earned him the title of Best Chef of the Year at Barceló in 2017.
